Metal Dome (also known as Snap Dome or Metal Tactile Dome) is a critical switch component made of stainless steel, with a thickness typically ranging from 0.05mm to 0.10mm. It is widely used in membrane switches, tactile switches, PCB boards, FPC boards, medical devices, and many other fields.

Its working principle is as follows: when external pressure is applied, the metal dome deforms and makes contact with the pads (PAD) on the PCB, thereby completing the circuit connection.

Common metal domes can be categorized by shape into round, cross-shaped (four-leg), triangular, and oval types, with diameters ranging from 3mm to 20mm and actuation forces covering 100gf to 6000gf. Through continuous R&D, we have significantly improved product lifespan, with standard models capable of over 1 million presses. Additionally, to meet various customer requirements for contact resistance, we offer multiple surface plating options including nickel plating, silver plating, and gold plating.

No matter what shape or specification you require, we can provide a professional solution. Feel free to contact us for more product information.

Focus Introduction: Cross-Shaped Metal Dome (Four-Leg Metal Dome)
The cross-shaped metal dome, named for its four-leg structure, significantly outperforms standard round domes in both lifespan and tactile feedback, currently achieving a lifespan of over 1 million cycles. This type of dome is widely used in products such as mobile phones, digital cameras, MP3/MP4 players, electronic dictionaries, microwave ovens, GPS devices, medical equipment, small household appliances, IoT smart devices, and high-end flexible circuits and membrane switches.

Its working principle involves using the top dome as the main contact surface, with the four legs providing support. When pressure is applied to the main surface, the central dome first contacts the pad on the circuit board, then forms a complete circuit with the four legs to achieve electrical conduction.
